Hope Scholarship Application Now Open!
We’re excited to announce that Hope scholarship applications are now open on the Step Up For Students website for eligible public schoolchildren.
To be eligible, beginning in the 2018-19 school year, a K-12 public school student must report a qualifying incident of bullying or violence at their district school. Upon conclusion of the school’s investigation, or within 15 days after the incident was reported, whichever comes first, the principal, or his/her designee, must notify the parent about the Hope Scholarship Program, and provide the parent with the Hope Scholarship Notification Form (Form IEPC-HS1). This is the only form Step Up For Students can use to determine eligibility.
Step Up will award Hope Scholarships on a first-come, first served-basis, pending funding availability. The school registration and enrollment process for a Step Up For Students Hope Scholarship student is still being defined. Prior to awarding Hope Scholarships, Step Up will provide a detailed communication to schools outlining the Hope Scholarship School Commitment Form, Student Verification and Scholarship Distribution processes.
